Another Featured Brighton Creative. Felix Thorn. “He builds machines for art installations, live performance, commercials, theatre accompaniment, and shop window displays. Felix specialises in de-constructing real-life objects and creating new experiences with movement, music and light.” – (felixsmachines.com) Felix was born on 23rd December 1985 in Brighton, UK. Born and bred, added bonus.
Brighton Creatives went to Brighton University to check out some of the degree work that is already on show. It was completely by surprise that we managed to catch a performance of Felix’s Machines. Here’s a little sneak peak video we recorded.
One of our favourite concepts/installations is The Moleskine Orchestra. As an avid Moleskine diary user for the past 7 years I was delighted to find this video.
“A themed set of machines built using Moleskine products to explore their sound-making potential and kinetic manifestations. Diaries are clappers, glasses are drum sticks, and the brand’s new range of items are animated in a multi-sensory display.”
Felix has also performed with one of my favourite musical artists Plaid. He is without a doubt an exceptionally talented Featured Brighton Creative. If you ever have a chance to view his creative displays, don’t miss out.
